Privacy Policy

The short version

Your mood, journal, and HealthKit-derived data stay on-device by default. There are no accounts and no app-run cloud sync requirement. GroundedMe does not use advertising SDKs or behavioral analytics, but it does use limited operational services described below.

What data the app stores

GroundedMe stores mood entries, notes, and settings locally on your device using on-device storage. This content is stored locally by default and is not kept in an app-run cloud database.

HealthKit data

If you grant permission, GroundedMe reads health data (sleep, steps, heart rate, HRV, exercise minutes, stand hours, mindful minutes, walking/running distance, medication records, and menstrual cycle data) from Apple HealthKit. This data is used solely within the app to show correlations with your mood. It is never sent to GroundedMe's servers.

Weather data

GroundedMe may use your approximate location to fetch weather data from Open-Meteo. Coarse weather location may be stored on-device alongside historical weather records and may appear in data exports.

Third-party services

GroundedMe does not include advertising SDKs or behavioral analytics. It does use two limited operational services. Neither receives your mood entries, notes, or HealthKit-derived content:

iCloud backup

GroundedMe offers an optional iCloud backup feature. If you enable it:

iCloud backup is entirely opt-in. If you never enable it, your data never leaves your device.

Data export

You can export your data at any time. Exported files are created locally on your device — you choose where they go.

Children's privacy

GroundedMe is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update this page. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
